Sofi Sjöberg has a long experience of analysis work and project management within regional development policy, with a particular focus on sustainability, well-being, green transition and sustainable tourism and has conducted a large number of studies and analyzes within these fields of knowledge, at regional, national and international level.

Before joining the Technopolis Group in January 2023, Sofi worked for the the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth where she was responsible for the management of the Swedish Better Life Index, a measurement system for well-being and sustainable regional development. The work included further development of indicators and framework, developing and implementing solutions for visualization and accessing the database online, alignment and coordination with the Susatinable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, as well as joint analysis work with representatives from the regional analysis network.

Sofi also has experience from the tourism and hospitality sector working with production and development of toruism statistics and has been a representative in the UN World Tourism Organization, UNWTO, committee for measuring sustainable tourism. Sofi has run both national as international projects, including pilot studies for linking the tourism satellite accounts with the environmental accounts for estimating the CO2-emissions from the tourism sector, and feasibility studies of the possibility of using mobile positioning data for statistical production within the tourism sector in the nordic region.

Sofi has a double Bachelor’s degree in Economic History and Media and Communications science. In addition to that she also studied Spanish Philosophy at the University of Barcelona. Sofi is fluent in Swedish, English and Spanish, and has a good understanding of Catalan, Norwegian and Danish.
