Janna van Belle
Dr Janna van Belle has recently joined the Technopolis Group in Amsterdam, and has more than 10 years of experience in consulting and research in health and life sciences. Prior to joining Technopolis Group, she worked at RAND Europe, a not-for-profit research institute based in Cambridge (UK), where she worked in the areas of healthcare and education. Her background is in neuroscience, (mental) health across the lifespan and education. She has a thorough grounding in both quantitative research methods (specifically data analysis in R) and qualitative methods such as interviews, literature reviews, case studies, surveys and workshops.
She has worked on a wide range of projects ranging from programme evaluations and evidence assessments, to quantitative survey-data analysis and the implementation and evaluation of Randomised Controlled Trials. She has worked for various clients including an impact analysis of new health and wellbeing interventions on behalf of Public Health England, evidence assessments for the European Commission, Public Health England, the Royal Society and the Wellcome Trust, and an evaluation of the Primary Care Transformation in London for NHS England.
Prior to joining RAND, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the MRC-Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (MRC-CSBU) in Cambridge, investigating cognitive and neural markers of healthy cognitive ageing. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University in developmental cognitive neuroscience, on brain development in child- and adolescent psychiatric disorders. She has a B.A. and MSc in cognitive psychology from Utrecht University. She has published widely in academic journals and has served as a peer-reviewer. Aside from being native in Dutch, she is fluent in English.
