Technopolis Group opened its first German office in Frankfurt in 2009 and a second office in Berlin in 2017. It has established itself as one of Germany’s leading science, technology and innovation policy consultancies.
Our growing team of consultants in Germany work all along the policy process.
- We support with the design of funding strategies and instruments.
- We implement programmes and initiatives for our clients, often in close cooperation with our sister offices around Europe and the world.
- We monitor and evaluate policies and institutions.
We are active in various areas of the science and innovation system. We, for instance, provide higher education, science and policy analysis, SMEs and entrepreneurship support and regional economics and cluster policy studies. We analyse specific aspects of innovation policy, such as digitisation policies, sustainability issues, social innovations, regulatory innovation policy instruments, innovation financing and topics at the interface of innovation and (vocational) education.
Our experts are active at the national and international levels. Our German clients range from federal ministries over Länder governments to foundations and other intermediaries such as the Stiftung Mercator or the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Our Berlin office, for instance, hosts the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy’s (BMWi) the National Office Smart Living. We also work on projects for the European Commission’s various DGs as well as international institutions such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
We maintain close links with renowned institutions. As a result, we frequently collaborate with experts from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, project management agencies (e.g. DLR-PT and VDI/VDE-IT) as well as from universities and research institutes around Germany.
The leadership team in Germany consists of the Managing Partners Dr. Florian Berger and Jérôme Treperman as well as Prof. Dr. Thomas Heimer as the Scientific Head.
