Thyra de Jongh
Principal Consultant
Thyra de Jongh is a Principal Consultant at Technopolis BV, with over 18 years of experience in research and consulting. Her main areas of expertise are pharmaceutical legislation and innovation, medical research, health systems and policy analysis and global health. She has performed studies, programme evaluations and impact assessments for a range of organisations. This has given her a thorough grounding in research methods such as interviews, literature reviews, case studies, surveys and workshops.
Thyra joined Technopolis Group in 2014. Since then, her clients have included the European Commission, the World Health Organization, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, numerous ministries and governmental agencies, research funders, non-governmental institutions and professional associations. She has been responsible for key projects in the areas of pharmaceutical policy, access to medicine and vaccine communication. Furthermore, she has led and participated in numerous evaluations of global health programmes, as well as other evaluations in the field of health and life sciences more generally.
Prior to joining Technopolis, Thyra worked for five years as a self-employed international health consultant. During this time, she conducted evaluations and studies for the Global Fund, World Health Organization, UNAIDS and various other clients. This work often focused on how health systems in low- and middle-income countries are organised to deliver essential health interventions and products.
She holds Master degrees in Chemistry (University of Amsterdam, distinction) and International Health Management (Imperial College London, distinction), and in 2006 obtained a PhD in Biochemistry (University of Leiden). She has published a number of peer-reviewed articles and is fluent in Dutch and English.
