Krystel Montpetit is Principal Consultant, Green Economy and Foresight at Technopolis Group Belgium. Before joining Technopolis, she held the position of Foresight Team Lead at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, specialising in the future of the green and digital transition in OECD partner countries. Prior to the OECD, Krystel contributed her expertise in climate, sustainability and foresight to the World Economic Forum, the G20 Research Group, the Institute for Sustainability, the Ethiopian Government and the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Additionally, she worked on education, skills, jobs and innovation at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Krystel earned a dual Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris, where she concentrated on econometrics, economics, complex systems, foresight, climate and sustainability. In her thesis at LSE, she conducted a nested cross-sectional study examining the correlation between socioeconomic equality and environmental performance in countries with comparable levels of development. Krystel Montpetit also holds postgraduate diplomas in Climate Change Policy and Behavioural Insights and Public Policy from Harvard University, as well as a postgraduate diploma in Strategic Foresight from the School of International Futures (SOIF).

In 2013, Krystel was honoured as the recipient of the Donella Meadows Fellowship. She is an active member of the Balaton Group, an international network of experts in sustainability, climate, complex systems and foresight. Additionally, she is affiliated with the French Environment and Health Network. Her work has been recognised with awards such as the 2013 Global Public Network Policy Contest (Tokyo), the 2012 Global Public Policy Network Policy Contest (Singapore) and the 2013 European Public Policy Contest (Paris).
