This report is one out of a series of six reports, each targeting a separate dimension of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The report at hand specifically focuses on the dimension of ‘Citizen engagement and participation of societal actors in research and innovation’, or in short ‘Public Engagement’ (PE).

The six reports collectively form the main output of Task 2 of the ‘Monitoring the Evolution and Benefits of Responsible Research and Innovation’ (MoRRI) project. The main objective of this report is to take stock and assess existing empirical material within the dimension of PE, thus providing a platform for subsequent definition of metrics and indicators for RRI dimensions in Task 3.
