Publication date: 28 april 2017 | Report language: EN
Technopolis was commissioned by the Royal Society and the British Academy to look at the role of EU funding for Educational research in the UK. The study explores the impacts of this funding on individuals, institutions, policy and practice, and the potential impact of a change in access to EU-funded research. It covers the period between 2007 and 2016 and focuses on the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation (FPs) while also considering EU’s Lifelong Learning (2007-2013) and Erasmus plus (2014-2020) education programmes.
The report contains the following sections:
- A quantitative analysis of EU funding for the UK’s Educational research. This analysis is based on data from the European Framework Programmes and the UK Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
- Profiles of three UK university departments in relation to Educational research: King’s College London, a large research-intensive institution; the University of Exeter, a smaller research-intensive institution; and Manchester Metropolitan University, a relatively less research-intensive institution.
- A synthesis and conclusion section highlighting the role of EU funding for Educational Research in the UK.
The report is part of evidence base for the report, “Harnessing Educational Research”.
