Fernanda is a consultant at Technopolis. She has experience in research and project management in a broad variety of areas including environmental and energy policy, sustainability transitions, rural development, innovation for sustainability and ecosystems conservation. She has successfully applied a range of qualitative methods such as case studies, literature reviews, interviews, surveys and desk research. 

As part of Technopolis Fernanda has contributed on several evaluations and studies on the field of clean energy and green economy.  Previous projects include: process and impact evaluation of the Modern Energy Partners programme, the evaluation of the Hydrogen for Heating (Hy4Heat) programme, the design of a complex aware theory of change tool for the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), the evaluation of the Inter-American Development Bank Laboratory (IDB LAB) and the assessment of climate action in the PEACE PLUS (Ireland and North Ireland) programme.  

Prior to joining Technopolis, Fernanda worked as a project officer helping in the coordination of the global assessment on the multiple values of nature and its contributions to people at the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). During this time, she provided analytical support to experts from different disciplines worldwide and conducted several narrative and systemic literature reviews in the area of sustainable transitions, behavioural change, and the nexus between water, energy and food. 

Fernanda holds a M.Sc. in Energy Policy for Sustainability from the University of Sussex and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. During the Bachelor´s programme she spent one smester abroad at the  Natural Resources Management Institute at the Universidad de la Frontera in Chile. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
