Barbara Hansen-Duncan
Consultant
Barbara is a Consultant with the Green Economy Team of Technopolis Group, based at the London Office. She has a background in law, energy transition, low carbon technologies and climate change governance, with a particular interest in decarbonisation pathways, innovation in clean technology, regulatory strategies, and policy tools to deliver net zero. She has applied a range of qualitative tools including desk research, literature reviews, legal research, legal network analysis and participatory methods including interviews, focus groups and case studies.
Recently, Barbara has participated in feasibility studies of green hydrogen, analysing the techno-economic assessments, end-use uptake barriers and the deployment of regulation and policy options to support green investment involving interviews with stakeholders across academia, industry, and the public sector.
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Barbara worked for the Chilean Government in the Ministry of National Assets in land use change reforms for First Nations owners in rural sectors, managing capacity-building workshops and round tables for agricultural communities. She has participated in the development of renewable PV solar panels infrastructure in the Atacama Desert.
Barbara completed her MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, with a focus on Global Environmental Climate Policy. She received her undergraduate degrees with Honours from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, in both Law and History. She is fluent in English and Spanish, with a knowledge of Italian.
