Margrethe Steinert is an analyst based in the Brussels office of Technopolis Group. She has been involved in green economy projects, research and innovation projects, and stakeholder engagement activities, such as European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) (DG Env), CirClean (DG Grow), Eco-innovation Observatory (DG Grow). Prior to working in Technopolis group, Margrethe worked as a project manager in the youth organization YMCA, where she developed expertise in event management, youth leadership trainings and grant application writing. She has also experience from diplomacy and qualitative market research, due to her previous internship at the Norwegian Embassy in Buenos Aires in Argentina and as a project assistant at ACNielsen Norway. During her career and studies, she has successfully applied ethnographic methods such as fieldwork and participant observation, and interviews, focus groups, case studies, desk research, literature reviews, transcription and statistical analysis. During her years of work, she has also been particularly active in volunteering for the Norwegian Red Cross and participated in civil duty work for the Oslo District Court and the Norwegian Child and Social Welfare Boards.
In 2020, she graduated with greatest distinction/summa cum laude with a MSc in European Integration at Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) with a thesis in international relations, policy analysis and EU immigration policies. Additionally, she holds a BA and MPhil in social anthropology from University of Oslo with a focus on indigenous community coherency in situations of rapid societal change, identity formation, property rights issues and climate change impacts. She is fluent in Norwegian, English and Spanish, works in Danish and Swedish, and is currently learning French.
