Julie D’hont is a Consultant at Technopolis, having joined in 2020. Julie has developed expertise in public policy evaluation with a recent particular interest in research bodies and higher education. She has contributed to evaluations, impact assessment and studies for international, European and national public bodies. She has applied successfully a range of methods, including interviews, surveys, case studies, desk research and literature reviews.  

Julie has  recently contributed to an Evaluation of the European Southern Observatory for the STFC, an Evaluation of the Leverhulme Trust, an Evaluation of STEM initiatives for girls and women for the British Council, an Evaluation of data skills shortages for social scientists in the UK for ESRC, an Evaluation of higher education initiatives between the UK and India for the British Council, and an Evaluation of the UK Contract for Difference scheme.  

She is currently working on an Evaluation of UKRI’s response to Covid-19, for UKRI, a CN Impact evaluation for Be the Business, a literature review and HEIF evaluation design advice, for Research England, and an evaluation of the European Social Survey, for the European Research Infrastructure Consortium.

Julie has a background in geopolitics and history, particularly looking at gender and conflict.  Before joining Technopolis, Julie was completing a Master’s in Geopolitics and Grand Strategy (Sussex University) and a BA in History (Queen Mary’s University of London).  Julie is experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She is natively French, but brought up in the UK, and is thus fluently conversant in both languages. She also has an advanced knowledge of Spanish.
