Concept development for an impact-oriented RTI monitoring of the Austrian Ministry of Climate Protection

The Directorate for Innovation and Technology of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) has a heterogeneous portfolio of thematic priorities, RTI policy instruments, accompanying measures, and implements these with the support of funding agencies (e.g. FFG, aws) and via strategic governance of publicly financed RTOs (i.e. AIT, SAL).

The Austrian office of Technopolis has been commissioned with the proposal for a design of a monitoring system. The aim is to create an efficient and transparent system for measuring impact and supporting knowledge development in order to facilitate strategic steering at the section level. The various interventions of the BMK – in particular the funding of applied RDI projects and institutional funding of research institutions – are to be recorded and their effects verified.
