UNESCO’s Internal Oversight Service has called for an external evaluation of UNESCO’s work in capacity building in the basic sciences and engineering (BSE). This evaluation is commissioned at the end of UNESCO’s Programme and Budget for 2014-2017 (37 C/5). As stated in the Terms of Reference the evaluation will adopt a retrospective and a forward looking perspective. It will aim to assess UNESCO’s work during the last six years and to enable UNESCO’s Natural Science Sector (SC) to make informed adjustments to its planned work and/or structure in time to be able to incorporate them into the planning for the next Programme and Budget for the period 2018-2021.
