Frédéric Maier is a Senior consultant based in the Brussels office of Technopolis Group. He has developed expertise in public policy analysis and evaluation, with a particular interest in Science, Technology and Innovation, Regional development and Blue Economy. Frédéric facilitates evidence-based policy making for regional, national ministries and agencies, European and international organisations.
In the course of his professional career, Frédéric has contributed to the delivery of +40 public policy consultancy projects, applying successfully a wide range of qualitative and quantitative tools (incl. desk research, interviews, survey design, case studies, and statistical analysis), evaluation methodologies and policy advice. He handles managerial positions, involving the coordination of highly international consortia.
Frédéric is also part of Technopolis Group’s team of consultants actively engaged in the Latin American market. Recent assignments include: International Independent Review of Fundación Chile; the R&I Policy Advice service in Central America to promote regional integration in addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and; the study for the design and future development of the Ecuadorian Coast Innovation Zone (ZILE), launched by the Inter-American Development Bank.
Since 2017, Frédéric teaches an annual academic seminar on public policy evaluation methodologies at the University of Strasbourg. He holds both a Master’s degree in “Macroeconomics and European Policies” from the University of Strasbourg and a Master’s degree in “European Economic Integration and Business” from the College of Europe.
Frédéric is French and Portuguese, and also fluent in Spanish and English.
