Anoushka has expertise in science and technology policy with a particular interest in the health, life sciences, energy and international development sectors. She has worked for clients in the EU (e.g. DG RTD, DG EAC, DG GROW), the UK (e.g. Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Royal Society; Research Councils and Research Charities), Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands. Her previous projects have involved providing support for UK’s Science and Innovation Audits, evaluating the contribution of EU research funding for poverty-related neglected diseases, and benchmarking the personalised medicine sector in Flanders against that in 9 EU countries, the US and Canada. Anoushka has also been project manager for 3 reviews of interdisciplinary research, two in the UK and one in Norway. She is currently working on evaluations or reviews of England’s National Cancer Vanguard programme, the EU Orphan Drug Regulation, Innovate UK’s Medicines Manufacturing Programme and the Europe PMC repository.
Anoushka has successfully applied a range of methods such as case studies, interviews, surveys, desk research, literature reviews and statistical analysis to her work. Prior to joining Technopolis, Anoushka worked for the Universities of Sussex and Oxford as a postdoctoral researcher in genetics and cancer research. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology from Gujarat University in India, a Master’s in biotechnology from the University of West of England, UK and her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of East Anglia, UK. She has recently received a Master’s with Distinction in Science and Technology Policy at the University of Sussex, UK. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujarati, and has a working knowledge of French.
