Liz has a strong academic grounding in research and evaluation methods built upon with over eight years of consultancy experience. She has a particular interest in programmes and policies focused on sustainability and the pathway to net zero. She has project managed and led methodological development, analysis and reporting for evaluations. She has applied a range of methods successfully such as qualitative interviews, surveys, workshops, case studies, desk research, literature reviews and statistical analysis.

Liz is currently the project manager for a consortium evaluating two energy storage innovation programmes for the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ). Liz is also the project manager for Technopolis for the evaluation of Waves 1 and 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund for DESNZ. Liz also recently led stakeholder engagement within a project examining options for the EU Emissions Trading Scheme post 2030 for DG CLIMA at the European Commission. She has also been contributing to the evaluation of the Transforming UK Food Systems programme for UK Research & Innovation.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Liz worked for another consultancy, working with a range of government and not for profit clients including the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Scottish Government, Zero Waste Scotland and the Waste and Resources Action Partnership (WRAP). Key themes in the projects she worked upon included technology development and innovation, energy, agriculture and resource and waste management.

Liz has a PhD in social policy from the University of Nottingham. She obtained her undergraduate diploma in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford and her Masters degree in Social Research from the University of Warwick. She is a native English speaker.
