Roel Bottema MSc is a senior consultant with Technopolis in Amsterdam. He has nine years of experience as a policy researcher. Previously, he researched and evaluated policies regarding sustainability, circular economy social and labour market policies and financing of SME’s. Within Technopolis, Roel focuses on science, technology and sustainability. With his experience, Roel has extensive knowledge of different qualitative and quantitative research methods and both ex-ante and ex-post evaluations.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Roel worked for several consultancies conducting evaluation and policy research on several themes and subjects. He worked at Pro Facto, conducting research on counter-terrorism policies. Next, he worked several projects in the field of labour markets, welfare and social programmes, evaluating several local policies througout the Netherlands. The last six years, Roel has focused on sustainability and circular economy, researching waste collection and treatment on local, national and international level. Roel has a bachelor and masters degree in Sociology and a Bachelors degree in Philosophy from the University of Groningen. Roel is fluent in Dutch and English.
