Ruth Dixon is a Principal Consultant Health and Life Sciences. Ruth has over 12 years of experience in epidemiological research and provision of technical assistance to Ministries of Health in low and middle income countries.
Ruth has a long-standing commitment to facilitating and strengthening the provision and use of robust evidence to inform priority setting, policy design and operational decision making in global health. She is highly experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis techniques with an increasing focus on participatory methods. Having worked primarily at national scale in implementation research settings, Ruth brings a unique and practical insight into the contexts of large scale public health operations and is adept at translating a broad range of evidence into actionable policy and practice.
Ruth has provided in depth technical assistance to the Ministries of Health and Education in Kenya where she led design and delivery of the monitoring and evaluation of the National School Based Deworming Programme including chairing the inter-ministerial M&E working group. In Myanmar and Thailand she supported National Malaria Control Programmes in evaluating and updating their surveillance and outbreak response systems in changing epidemiological contexts. Immediately prior to joining Technopolis Ruth led a research team to develop and deliver an operational research portfolio in West Africa in support of the National Neglected Tropical Disease Control and Elimination programmes across the region.
Ruth trained originally in Natural Sciences at the University of Durham with a major in Biochemistry and Genetics and subsequently in Control of Infectious Disease at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
