Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Consultant to lead our evaluation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing a team of professionals to deliver high-quality evaluations of public policies and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the evaluation team, providing guidance and support to team members to ensure high-quality work
- Coordinate the evaluation business of the company, with the support of our data analytics and methods team and the Technopolis Group
- Contribute to the development of new business opportunities by identifying potential clients and preparing proposals
- Build on a series of framework contracts (DG R&I, DG GROW, DG CNECT, etc.), together with the evaluation team to strengthen our track and mainstream evaluation across the different teams
- Manage multiple evaluation projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget
- Conduct rigorous evaluations of public policies and programs, using a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Write clear and concise reports that present findings and recommendations in a compelling and accessible manner
- Deliver engaging presentations to clients and stakeholders, communicating complex information in a clear and understandable way
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring their satisfaction with our work
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in EU and STI public policy evaluation or related fields
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct rigorous evaluations and draw insightful conclusions from data
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of professionals
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and deliver engaging presentations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in a consulting firm or other professional services environment preferred
In addition to the previous requirements, we are seeking a candidate with a strong knowledge of the Better Regulation Guidelines, impact assessment and a track record of applying them in the evaluation of public policies and programs. The successful candidate should have a deep understanding of the principles of evidence-based policymaking, and the ability to apply them to real-world policy challenges.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing evaluations that adhere to the Better Regulation Guidelines, including conducting stakeholder consultations, selecting appropriate evaluation methods, and using data and evidence to inform policy recommendations. They should also be familiar with the broader context of policy evaluation in the European Union and have a keen awareness of the latest developments in the field.
