Dr. Adam Krčál is a principal consultant at Technopolis Group with expertise in analysis and evaluation in research, development and education. He has professional experience in education and innovation systems both at international and national level with a particular interest in higher education policy evaluation, including funding, quality assurance, governance and internationalisation. Adam is an experienced project manager, having led a number of assignments for the European Commission and clients in the UK. He has extensive expertise in designing various research and evaluation tools and routinely undertakes a range of data collection and analytical methods, both quantitative and qualitative. Currently, he is the Lead on qualitative methods in the Evaluation of Q-Step Programme (for the Nuffield Foundation, UK). He recently worked on the Mid-term evaluation of Erasmus+ and a pan-European study on University-Business Cooperation in Europe (both for EC DG EAC), where he was extensively involved in the case study programme. Adam is experienced in working with a number of partners from higher education institutions, various research organisations, government and local administrations, international organisations, as well as with private entities and NGOs.

Prior to joining Technopolis, he worked for the OECD, Directorate for Education and Skills (EDU), where he worked on a range of assignments in higher education. Prior to that, Adam worked for the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports where he led teams in charge of the higher education funding policy and of strategic analyses. His duties involved, among others, developing new performance indicators for higher education funding in the Czech Republic and regular analyses of the higher education sector, including student and researcher mobility.

Adam holds a PhD in International Trade and a Masters degree in International Relations, both from the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic, and he completed a student mobility programme at the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (SciencesPo.). Based in the Brighton office of Technopolis, Adam is a Czech national and is fluent in English and Slovak and has advanced knowledge of French.
