Claudia Cuervo is a specialist in the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies and institutional capacity building in the areas of Science, Technology and Innovation, Productive Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, Competitiveness. She has more than 20 years of experience working in the public, private, academic and international cooperation sectors.
She has served as Minister of Agriculture: Minister (e), Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Director of Innovation leading processes of the Comprehensive Rural Reform and national plans; Minciencias: Director General (e), Deputy Director General (e), Director of Innovation, Head of Planning and first technical secretary (design and implementation) of the CTeI Royalties Fund; DNP: Coordinator CTeI group, Business Development Advisor and young researcher; Observatory of Science and Technology: Researcher; Consultant for international organizations: European Union, FAO, AICS, WB, IDB, UN WOMEN, Swisscontact – Swiss Cooperation, Technopolis group; WRI World Resources Institute, UNDP and national organizations: AGROSAVIA, National Federation of Coffee Growers, AVANCIENCIA, CONFECAMARAS, FUEEC, Econometrics, Institute of foresight, innovation and knowledge management, among others.
Leader and coordinator in the design and implementation of the most important reforms in the sector, such as Law 1876 of 2017 National Agricultural Innovation System SNIA, Law 1530 of CTeI Royalties, Law 1286 of 2009 of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as the coordination and participation in Policy documents, plans and prospective on issues of Science, Technology and Innovation, Competitiveness, Productive Development, Agriculture and Rural Development and the design and implementation of policy instruments. Its role of coordination and articulation of different actors from the public and private sectors, academia and society, at national, regional and international level.
