A co-creative space to combat unemployment and foster entrepreneurship in Helsingborg City

Helsingborg City has commissioned Faugert & Co Utvärdering/Technopolis Sweden to conduct a study on how to develop and organise a co-creative space where the business sectors, residents and the public sector can work together to develop new and innovative solutions to societal challenges. The overarching purpose of this co-creative space is to combat unemployment and foster entrepreneurship in the city, and in extension contribute to growth and social inclusion. The study is carried out during the period August 2021 – December 2021 and is based on document studies, interviews, and workshops.

The overall objective of the study is to develop a framework for how a co-creative space can be organised so that it will fulfil its purpose. The organisation of this space needs to be designed so that it is sustainable over time and has the ability to continuously capture challenges and opportunities in terms of labour market issues and entrepreneurship. The foundations of various co-creative initiatives and platforms already exist in Helsingborg today. These empirical examples are to be included in the study to illuminate patterns for how co-creation is expressed and can be developed. The study will also provide answers on how existing platforms and initiatives can be connected to complement each other and promote synergies.
