Maria Ricksten works as a consultant at Technopolis Group’s subsidiary in Sweden. In her capacity as a consultant, she has developed expertise within a broad range of policy fields including EU cohesion policy, sustainable regional development, labour market policy, environmental policy as well as policy issues related to European higher education systems. During her time at the Technopolis Group, she has contributed to evaluations, impact assessments and implementation studies for international, European and national public institutions. As an extension of this, she has successfully applied several research methods such as interviews, desk research, surveys, and case studies.
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, she has previous experience as an intern at the global consultancy firm Ramboll Management Consulting (RMC) which specializes in supporting clients in the public sector with solutions of evidence-based policy making. Prior to this, Maria was also employed as a research assistant at the Centre for European Studies (CFE) at the Department of Political Science of Lund University.
Maria’s academic record includes a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from Lund University. During said degree, she studied a semester abroad at the University of Toronto during which she advanced her knowledge in public policy analysis as well as international development economics. Additionally, Maria also holds a master’s degree in European Governance and European Affairs from Lund university. She is fluent in English, Swedish and has a good understanding of Norwegian and French.
