Impact assessment of Iron & Steel

Energy Agency’s research and development (R&D) funding to the iron and steel sector 1998–2015. The assessment’s main aim has been to illuminate the impact the funding has had on the sector’s energy use and its use of fossil-based raw materials and fossil-based energy.
The study is based on document studies, descriptive statistics of the sector in Sweden, financial analysis of the Energy Agency’s funding, and 53 interviews as well as site visits at key actors in the sector. The interviews and site visits were important, since much of the information for the assessment was not available elsewhere.
