Karine Kouacou is a Senior Consultant at Technopolis Group based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. She has developed expertise in public policy design, implementation and evaluation, strategy, focusing on private sector development, industrial transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation. She has led strategic and prospective studies for African organisations, national public bodies and intermediate organisations of the private sector. She has applied successfully a range of methods such as statistical analysis, econometrics, case studies, interviews, surveys, desk research, literature reviews and benchmarking studies.
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Karine has served for the Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), the largest employers ‘organization in Côte d’Ivoire, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. She has managed, as a Director, business climate improvement and private sector development programs, on behalf of CGECI, in partnership with the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, the World Bank/IFC, AfDB, European Union, ECOWAS and WAEM. She also led CGECI’s contribution in the development of sectoral strategies and socio-economic development studies. She was involved in entrepreneurship development and has supervised CGECI’s Business Plan Competition and CGECI’s Youth Entrepreneurship Accelerator.
Karine is an Economist and Statistician Engineer (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée – Côte d’Ivoire) and holds a MSc in finance (EMLYON Business School – France). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics (University of Orléans – France). Her research focuses on industrial policy, competitiveness and private sector development in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is fluent in French and English.
