Lonneke Schrijver works as a consultant at Technopolis Group, Amsterdam. In this position she focuses on projects in the thematic areas Health & Life Sciences and Higher Education and she has specific interest in Open Science. She had training in a wide range of methods such as logical framework analysis, survey design and implementation, interview and workshop facilitation, and contributed to the development of evaluation tools, ex-post and ex-ante evaluations, as well as impact assessments for national, international and European organisations.
Recent projects Lonneke was involved in include the evaluation of the Access to Medicine Foundation and the in-depth analysis on issues of access to medicinal products commissioned by the European Parliament. Currently, she is working on the development and application of an evaluation tool to assess the functioning of all Flemish Animal Ethics Committees. Moreover, she is involved in the evaluation of Neuro-Electronics Research Flanders (NERF); a research initiative of VIB, imec and KU Leuven, that conducts basic research into the brain from a systems neuroscience perspective combining technologies from biology, physics, engineering and computer science. Additionally, Lonneke is part of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Secretariat network.
Lonneke has an academic background in neurobiology and graduated in Psychobiology and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies she focused on cognitive neurobiology and clinical neurophysiology and has in-depth knowledge of biomedical, translational and clinical research. Before joining Technopolis, Lonneke was involved in several research projects, such as the development of a visual prothesis, neurostimulation as an add-on treatment targeting relapse in alcohol addiction, and studied the similarities and differences in properties of cortical neurons in the human and mouse brain.
