Aurélien Seawert is a senior consultant specialised in climate policy and based in the Paris office of Technopolis Group. Working with a range of global public sector bodies and industry organisations (governments, European Commission, public development and commercial banks), he provides strategic advice on how these organisations can further contribute to the transition towards a net-zero economy.

In particular, he leads projects in the climate finance and climate adaptation work streams. This includes advising banks on their internal frameworks and processes for targeting, appraising and financing climate projects, and on their navigation of the climate risk disclosure landscape, as well as guiding public sector bodies on setting regulatory measures. On climate adaptation, he has assisted development banks in assessing the effectiveness of adaptation activities, and helped the European Commission in identifying innovative adaptation solutions integrating nature-based solutions. He is experienced in applying various qualitative and quantitative methodologies to his research (interviews, surveys, data analysis, interactive workshops) and formulating strategic and operational policy recommendations.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Aurélien worked for the OECD’s Climate Change Adaptation team. During this time, he analysed OECD countries’ adaptation responses to sea level rise, developing guidance on best practices and co-authoring a 2019 paper: “Responding to Rising Seas”. Aurélien obtained his undergraduate diploma in Political Science from the University of Bath, and a master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Sciences Po Paris (cum laude). He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
