Subcontracted by Ramböll Management in Sweden, Technopolis has undertaken a literature review presenting the dynamics of international researcher mobility, for the Region Västra Götaland in Sweden. The features of mobility were described, including drivers behind mobility and barriers towards mobility for the individual. Patterns and trends that impact mobility were investigated and the results of mobility in terms of career development and strengthened scientific quality were elaborated as well. It is clear that international researcher mobility is a most important part of a successful academic career and an undertaking that has vast impact on the practice of science.
