Augusto Ferreira works as a Managing Partner at Technopolis Group’s subsidiary in Portugal.

He has worked for over 25 years in science, technology and innovation policies as a manager, consultant and evaluator. His career path includes assignments in national/regional innovation, regional development, science and technology commercialisation, entrepreneurship, ICT/digital economy and climate change.

He is experienced in providing strategic advice for policy decision making at regional, national and international levels, including policy analysis and studies, policy design, implementation, evaluation and impact assessment.

Prior to joining Technopolis, Augusto led his own innovation consultancy business for the private and public sectors and was Director of one of Portugal’s largest university-industry technology transfer organisations, where he was also Head of Entrepreneurship. He worked earlier in the coordination unit of a pan-European network of 240 regions managed by the European Commission (Luxembourg) providing advice to national and regional governments on innovation policies and strategies. Augusto completed higher education studies in Public Administration at the University of Lisbon. He is a native Portuguese speaker and is fluent in English and Spanish.
