Technopolis has conducted an impact assessment study that aims at providing the COST Association with an assessment of the scientific, networking and societal impact of its activities over Horizon 2020. This impact assessment makes use of quantitative and qualitative techniques to estimate to valued added of the COST framework on career building for young researchers, closing the gender gap and allowing knowledge and ideas diffusion (and creation) within and beyond the European Research Area.

This study’s findings confirm that the three priorities of COST are met: to build a network of researchers in order to enable knowledge diffusion and the spread to excellence, to foster interdisciplinarity of research and to provide a networking platform that integrates young and remote researchers from less research-intensive countries.
