Desk study on the state of the Life Sciences and Health sector in the Netherlands

At the request of the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, Technopolis BV performed a desk study on the state of the Life Sciences & Health sector in the Netherlands. Purpose of this study was to inform the development of a national action programme for the Dutch LSH by mapping out the current level and type of activity within this sector. The study was based on analysis of published data sources.
Despite a lack of comprehensive and comparable data, the study finds that the Dutch LSH sector shows an increasing level of activity. The Netherlands performs particularly strong in areas such as medical devices and biotechnonology. The ecosystem is supported by high quality biomedical research at Dutch universities and a strong culture of collaboration and partnerships.
