Technopolis Group helps Flemish government with its Open Science Strategy

13th August 2018

The Flemish government is responsible for all research policy in Flanders. With large universities such as KU Leuven, Ghent University, and research institutes such as IMEC and VIB Flanders has one of the most competitive research systems in the World.

The Flemish Government is looking for a new Open Science Strategy to strengthen research in Flanders and make Flanders fully prepared for the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The Government asked Technopolis Group to help develop its new Open Science Strategy. Part of the assignment is the development of a new governance model for Open Science in Flanders.

We kicked off the project in June, and we expect to present our findings to the Flemish government in September. The project involves close discussions with all key stakeholders in Flanders, as well as a comparison of some World-leading Open Science countries.
