Julia Synnelius has experience of evaluation of policies, projects, and programmes for public, private and the not-for-profit sector. Particularly, she is interested in social development. She has contributed to evaluations, impact assessments and studies for international and national clients and has successfully applied a range of methods such as interviews, surveys, case studies, desk research and literature reviews.
Julia has experience of evaluations and studies in an international, Nordic and Swedish context. She was recently involved in the impact assessment of the European Social Survey (ESS) where she contributed with case studies on impact of ESS in the Swedish, Norwegian, Hungarian and Austrian context. She has gained experience of working towards the not-for-profit sector through her involvement evaluations of projects and programmes aimed at better immigrant integration.
Julia holds a master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Gothenburg, obtained in 2017. Her educational profile is focused on international politics and gender equality issues. In her thesis, she investigated the EU gender equality policy and its process of translation in the multi-level governance setting. She also holds two bachelors’ degrees, one in Political Science and one in International Relations. She is fluent in Swedish and English, has good understanding of Norwegian and Danish and a basic understanding of Spanish and French.
