Project contact: Nikos Maroulis

Planned publication date: Autumn 2019

The objective of the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre (EREK) (EASME) is to become a reference point for companies and resource efficiency intermediaries on the latest state-of-the-art in the domain and thus to raise the awareness of SMEs for the savings potential that lies in switching to more resource efficient business models. Thanks to the services offered by EREK it is expected that businesses and especially small- and medium-sized enterprises will not only save costs by introducing more resource-efficient processes, but also find new business opportunities that increase their competitiveness. This in return will support industrial transformations in the regional and national economies.

EREK propose the following services:

  • Operate, maintain, integrate and further develop the European Resource Efficiency Self-Assessment Tool for SMEs, the Catalogue of Resource Efficiency Improvement
  • Measures and the European Resource Efficiency Information Database
  • Enhance the support and advice that SMEs receive to improve their resource efficiency
  • Develop, maintain and animate the interactive collaborative website of the European Resource Efficiency Excellence Centre
  • Promote resource efficiency support measures for SMEs across the European Union and COSME participating countries.
