European Trend Chart on Innovation
The Dutch team contributes actively to the European
Trend Chart on Innovation by collecting, analysing,
and reporting information on Dutch and Flemish innovation
policy and innovation support instruments.
On behalf of the European Commission’s DG Enterprise
and Industry we are responsible for designing and managing
Innovation Trend Chart Policy Review workshops. These workshops
offer participants the opportunity to compare and analyse
innovation policies and support schemes of the Member States
and the U.S. The European Commission uses the workshops as
a tool to improve quality of European policies and instruments
and learn from experiences in other countries. Participants
come from different European countries and the U.S. and include
policymakers, (academic) researchers, trade organisations,
and consultants specialised in innovation policy.
In close cooperation with the Commission, Technopolis takes
care of every aspect of the event, including organising accommodation
for participants, defining the agenda, identifying eligible
(key note) speakers and participants, writing a workshop
scoping paper and detailed background papers, providing good
rapporteurs, and preparing a report or proceedings on the
workshop.
The following workshops have been organised in 2004 and
2005 covering a wide range of topics:
- Ensuring Policy Coherence by Improving the Governance
of Innovation Policy
- Making Innovation Policies More User Friendly for SMEs
- Benchmarking Innovation Excellence as Input for Policy
