The Netherlands office was founded in 1996. It is situated in the historic centre of Amsterdam.

Our team aims to be at the forefront of policy studies, evaluations and strategic advice and has wide experience in these areas.

Consultants in our office have undertaken policy studies on research infrastructures, public procurement for innovation, fiscal incentives for R&D, evaluation methods, international cooperation in S&T, research and innovation governance regional eco-systems, entrepreneurship and high-tech start-ups and many more.

The team has evaluated more than 100 research and innovation (R&I) programmes and has led or participated in evaluations of R&I agencies as well as of individual research and innovation centres and public-private networks in various EU countries.

Policy makers frequently call on us to provide strategic advice as they develop new policies or establish new instruments. We provide consultancy services to public programme management organisations, to public and private stakeholders seeking to set up new research and innovation centres or university research departments developing their strategies. The Netherlands office is an active partner for many regions in the development and implementation of smart specialisation and innovation strategies and cross-border collaboration.

The team has particular expertise in the thematic domains of Green Economy, Sustainable Energy, Health & Wellbeing, Agro-Food, ICT & Media and Key Enabling Technologies.

A considerable share of our work is carried out for clients in the Netherlands and Flanders, but also for clients in many other EU countries (in particular in Finland, Germany, Ireland and Czech Republic) and Asia and Africa. The office also has long-standing partnerships with international organisations such as the European Commission and the OECD.

Geert van der Veen leads the Dutch team, which comprises experienced consultants who aim to develop solutions tailored for each client.
