Technopolis Group, in collaboration with Trinomics, supported the European Parliament, EPRS – European Parliamentary Research Service in its mid-term review of the 7th Environmental Action Programme. The 7th Environment Action Programme (7th EAP) is the long term overarching strategy of the EU and its Member States in the field of environment and climate change. It covers a seven-year time frame (between 2014 and 2020) and is the first to set a long-term vision for policy-making in the field, until 2050.
The results of the review were mixed, and showed that even though some areas have showed progress, it is unlikely that all objectives will be fully met by 2020. It also suggests that some environmental and climate-related issues are not entirely coherent with a number of EU policies. The study is available on the European Parliament Think Tank website.
The study has received much public attention and has scored among the most popular publications of EPRS for the 2nd half of 2017. Following the publication of this study, an ENVI Committee meeting took place on the 28th of November in the European Parliament, the agenda can be found here. This event was open to the public and was live-streamed as well as recorded.
